Backround
Ukraine is a beautiful country that borders Russia and is close to Turkey. Each year Ukraine has attracted tourists from Eastern Europe and more recently from Western Europe and the U.S. The Carpathian Mountains are a good place for the 17.6 million1 tourists who frequented in 2005 to ski, fish, hike, and hunt. The 375 miles of coastline on the Black Sea is a popular summer time destination for tourists where they can swim and enjoy native wines produced in Ukrainian vineyards.
The capital city, Kiev is home to the Saint Sophia Cathedral. Orthodox and Catholic churches, along with synagogues and mosques can be found throughout the country. The ruins of ancient castles and historical parks are scattered. Yalta, located on the North shore of the Black Sea, is where the peace conference was held at the end of World War II.
Medical Tourism
Ukraine’s medical tourism has been growing in recent years. Ukraine is beginning to compete with other Eastern European countries for dental and cosmetic surgery patients. The dentistry equipment, materials and anesthetics are all high quality. Plastic surgery is also becoming more popular, along with eye surgeries, health spas and mud baths. Costs in the Ukraine are less expensive then in Russia and other European Union countries.
