1. What is Pangaea Medicine?

Pangaea Medicine is an international, online medical travel portal helping facilitate the relationship between patients and international Health Care Providers.  We were created specifically to help patients find the right medical providers and to help medical providers expand their business to international patients.  Pangaea Medicine provides patients with information about providers and medical providers with qualified targeted leads.  Our directory provides bios about doctors, statistics about hospitals, before & after pictures of common treatments, as well as a vehicle for patients to get answers to their questions from medical professionals.  

2. What does Pangaea Medicine do for me as a HealthCare Provider?

Pangaea Medicine provides you quality targeted leads from interested prospective patients via a free-market based bidding system.  We also provide you with tools to grow your business and increase awareness of your unique strengths.  Potential patients will be able to research your services through your online profile, browse before and after photos, and read common questions and answers, all relating specifically to your practice.

 3. How do I register?

You register by simply clicking on the Register link, and providing us with your relevant information.  Once you are approved, you will receive an email with a link verifying your login information. Make sure you click on this link to verify your identity.   Once you enter your verification code you can then begin to create you personal online brochure. You can come back at any time to finish your registration or your brochure.  Once published your information is live immediately.  If you have any issues with this process you can email us at [email protected] or call 001-949-281-7518.  

4. What tools are available to help me promote my medical practice or hospital?

A dynamic modifiable profile searchable by country and treatment, before & after galleries, question & answers, featured homepage links, and an optional direct website link are available.  These tools have proven to be very successful in generating new business for many providers.  Before & After Photos are relevant for only a few specific treatments, but can be very effective in gaining trust of prospective patients.  The Question & Answers feature is an excellent tool to help showcase your expertise to a large audience.  Direct Website links and featured homepage listings can help you get direct traffic and improve your website rankings.   

5. How do I cancel my account?

If you wish to cancel your account please just email [email protected] with cancel my account in the subject line.  Please provide us with your Hospital Name, and an explanation for your cancellation.

9. Where did you get the name Pangaea Medicine?

According to accepted theory Pangaea, meaning Earth in ancient Greek was the super continent that existed about 250 million years ago, before each of the component continents were separated into their current configuration. The name was first used by the German originator of the continental drift theory, Alfred Wegener.  This super continent is a metaphor for the flat world we live in today where the entire world is a marketplace for all goods and services.  Efficient means of travel and increased knowledge has helped bring the most advanced industries on a level playing field.  Without the boundaries of national borders or oceans we can all get the best quality medical care at realistic prices.

10. How do I post my before and after photos?

To post before and after photos login to your provider profile. Select the Add/Update Before/After photos under Manage photos.  Click on Add Update Before and After photos.  Select appropriate treatment area, then treatment, upload both photo’s and give a general description of the treatment provided.  It’s important to provide enough information to help prospective patients understand the case you have presented.  Click the Add Button and your photos will be submitted for approval.  Once Pangaea Medicine has approved your photo’s they will be viewable on your page as well as searchable from the Before and After Photo page. 

11. How do I post Answers to Questions?

The Questions and Answers feature is designed to help prospective patients get their questions answered by qualified medical providers.  This feature can also be an excellent tool for medical providers to show their expertise.  Once you are logged in to your profile you can click on the View All Questions link under Manage Q&As.   On this page you can view all answered and unanswered questions.  You can filter the list by treatment in order to find a question you are qualified to answer.  You can answer their question with plain text or html coded video or images from youtube.com or flickr.com etc.  

12. How do I get patient Testimonials?

After you successfully treat a patient we recommend that they offer a testimonial of the quality of your service.   If you have any current or past clients you can send them to our website and once they login and select your profile they can post their testimonial on your profile. 

13. Is there any content that is prohibited?

Yes, any form of contact information such as email, or phone numbers is prohibited.  We can post your web address for an additional fee.  Any pornographic material or material not used exclusively for medical or health purposes is prohibited as well.  Use your best judgment.  We reserve the right to block or prohibit any content that we deem inappropriate.

14. What is a Lead?

A “Lead” is more than generic contact information.  This lead is targeted specifically to your practice. Pangaea Medicines’ site is focused on Medical Tourism, and users are able to focus their search to specific countries and treatments.  This prospective patient found your profile by searching by procedure and country. Once you have registered and selected the procedures you want to promote your profile will start to appear in search results immediately.  The prospective patient would have specifically requested to contact you after reviewing your online profile.

15. How are search results determined?

Search results are primarily determined by the amount you bid on a specific procedure. The higher the bid for the procedure the higher your profile will place in the search results. There are other opportunities for you profile to be viewed in other areas of the site for highest bidder and featured providers.  Over time there will be other factors that will be factored into the algorithm such as number of leads purchased, paid vs. free listing, and other factors that have not yet been developed. 

16. What information is disclosed in search results?

The profile you create is what is provided to the prospective patient in the search results.  Your content can be one of the major factors that determine how many leads you will receive.  You decide what content to post and it is your responsibility to post content that both portrays the presence you want, and adheres to ethical, and legal guidelines, as well as our terms of service.

17. How does a healthcare provider get selected by a patient?

Patients search for Healthcare Providers by specific treatment and destination country.   Your bid amount, among other factors determines where you will place in the relevant category.  After reviewing the online profile you created, the patient makes the decision to contact you directly.  You will be sent an email with a link to your online profile management portal where you can review the lead.

18. What information is included in a Lead?

A “Lead” is fully qualified, targeted, and relevant because the prospective patient has SPECIFICALLY requested you!  It’s not a generic request for information.   The prospective patient then provides relevant contact information as well as information regarding their desired treatment.   Email, Phone Number, and desired treatment are all included in the lead.  You have the option to purchase the “lead” if you think you can assist them.   

19. How do I get more leads?

The primary factor in determining the number of leads you receive is the quality and relevance of your profile.  Pangaea Medicine gives you the tools to make and attractive and informative online brochure. Make sure you include accurate, relevant information that allows the prospective patient to see your strategic advantages.  This type of information will help them make a fully informed decision.   

We also offer additional tools that can help you gain more exposure: before and after photos (if relevant), Question and Answers, and Featured Listings. Before and After Photos can help you showcase your expertise, and make prospective patients more comfortable with the quality of your work. The Questions and Answers feature gives patients the ability to ask targeted questions directed to a specific treatment.  You have the option of replying to their questions, and this correspondence will be posted for all users to reference.  The amount you bid for a specific procedure can also help get you more visibility because your profile will place higher in the search results.

20. Are leads guaranteed to convert?

Pangaea Medicine is not a middle man or a beginning-to-end facilitator and we don’t charge a % of total procedure cost.  Once you purchase the lead, it is your responsibility to convert the lead.  We bring providers and prospective patients together, but beyond the lead purchase, your process will determine how many leads you convert.   There is no guarantee of the lead converting.  Because the lead system is based on a free market bidding system, the price you pay will be a fair value for the high quality lead you receive.   The market will price them accordingly.   

21. What role does Pangaea Medicine have after the lead purchase?

After you opt to purchase the lead, you are put into direct contact with the prospective patient, and it is at your discretion how to proceed.   The only role Pangaea fills after the lead is purchased is managing patient testimonials after a successful treatment.  At a later date, we may opt to expand our services, but at the present time we limit our role to the lead generation process and testimonial management.

22. How often can I change my lead bid amounts?

You are free to change your lead bid amounts as often as you wish through your online profile management page.  Our system is designed for you to monitor your business and remain flexible with the amount of leads you receive for a specific treatment or procedure.  For example if you make a business decision to focus more on one specific treatment you can increase your bid in that category.  

Costs

23. What is the cost of investment?

A basic listing is free, and the price you pay for each lead is determined by you.   The higher the bid the more leads you should receive due to the higher placement in search results.   You can enhance your listing with before and after photos, and the question and answer features for and investment of only $349 for one year.  You can also upgrade with a direct website link for investing $999 per year.  There will also be 4 Medical Providers featured on the Home Page for a monthly investment of $249 dollars. These investment costs are negotiable so please contact us if you would like to discuss other options. 

24. What if I bid substantially more than the second highest bidder?   

We understand that you need to focus more time and energy on your patients than marketing.  If you are the highest bidder, our system automatically lowers your bid cost to $1 dollar over the second highest bidder.  This allows you to set it and forget it!  You set a maximum price and will never be charged more than $1 dollar over your next highest competitor.  This can ensure that you can maintain a top listing for a longer period of time without having to manage the bidding process daily.

25. Are there any hidden costs?

No there are no hidden costs.  You get what you pay for.  The options are very straightforward and simple.  There are two tiers of listings; Free and Enhanced ($349), and a $999 investment for a direct website link.  Featured homepage listings are $249 per month.  The price you pay per lead is variable and it controlled by you.  You are 100% in control over these variable costs, pay as much or as little as you want.

26. Can we determine what we want to pay for different treatments?

Yes, our flexible system lets you determine a specific price you are willing to pay for each treatment you offer.  You also have the ability to manage this as frequently as you wish, enabling you to control the amount of leads you get.

27. How do we make payment?

Payment can be made by credit card, or via Paypal in US Dollars. Pangaea ensures that your data is kept safe using modern encryption technology.  Once you login and enter you credit card information you can purchase Credits for future lead purchases.  When you opt to purchase a “lead” the price will be deducted from your purchased credits account.   Enhanced listing, Featured listings, and website links will be paid for upfront via credit card or Paypal.

28. When do we make payment?

You make payment upfront for all services.  The purchased credit balance used for purchasing leads is refundable at anytime if you are not satisfied.  

29. Do we get to preview leads before purchasing them?

Yes, you will be notified when a prospective patient has requested your contact.  Once you have had a chance to review their request you can either opt to purchase the “lead” or ask for further clarification via onsite messaging.  If for some reason you are not in a position to take on leads or don’t like the quality of the lead you are not required to purchase any leads.
